Scottish Social Dancing Workshop / Let’s Ceilidh!

Originally the Scottish Gaelic word 'ceilidh' means 'companion' and stood for a social gathering of family and friends. Music and dance often were very important aspects of these occasions, and now ‘ceilidh’ became the word for a traditional Scottish dance party, which everyone can join!

A Baroque Experience

The „Little Orchestra” of music-club KnA Uithoorn changed their name specially for Elfia 2014 into "The Round Table Orchestra". Conducted by Richard Wortel (who also wrote all the musical arrangements), they will be performing, fully dressed in Baroque style, highlights from this rich musical period. The program includes excerpts from "King Arthur" and "The Fairy Queen" by Purcell, but also works by Handel, Telemann and Bach. All within the beautiful setting of the Chapel of Haarzuilens.
